Russian ambassador gets a shower of red paint; video went viral!
Russia’s ambassador to Poland was showered in red paint and also attacked with the objects as he tried to lay flowers at the memorial of Soviet soldiers in Warsaw today.
Victory Day is celebrated annually on May 9 in honour of the Soviet defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. So this year’s event was in Warsaw due to the Russia- Ukraine situation. Russia’s ambassador was blocked from entering the cemetery by the crowd. The crowd waved the Ukrainian flags in his face and recited the word ‘fascist’ before throwing things at him. His security were hit multiple times and then one threw a bag full of red paint into his face. Later, police were called to escort the crowd away. These incident’s images and videos which were released by Russian news agencies went viral over the social media.
Poland has a long and bloody history with the Soviet Russia. It has always been loyal and always supported Ukraine. Hence, when the war started, Poland was receiving end threats by Kremlin propagandists. Despite the threats, the Poland government has continued to supply weapons to Ukraine. Also, sending more than 200 T-72 tanks to Ukraine. Hence, Russian ambassador Sergei Andreev was confronted by these protesters. Consequently when he tried to mark Victory Day at the Soviet Military ceremony in the Polish capital. However, Andreev said later that he had not been injured during the attack.
