Nasa moves forward in preparation for Human Exploration to Mars and seeks feedback on the Objectives

As per the recent news, it claims that As NASA presses on with plans to send astronauts to the Moon as part of the Artemis missions to prepare for human exploration of Mars, the agency is seeking advice on its deep space exploration goals from the US industry, academia, international communities, and other stakeholders. Furthermore, on Tuesday, May 17, NASA presented a draft list of high-level objectives, including 50 items that fit under four broad categories of exploration: transportation and habitation, Moon and Mars infrastructure, operations, and science. They requested Comments must be received by the end of business on Tuesday, May 31.

As per the sources, Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy said that the information they gather on the missions will help them determine their mission plans for the Moon and Mars over the next 20 years. They’re looking for cooperation from within NASA and outside stakeholders to fine-tune these goals and keep the process as transparent as possible. They will discover potential architectural gaps as well as places where their goals overlap with those of industry and international partners, allowing for greater cooperation.

There are currently no official requests for information or other procurement activities planned for this program, which is overseen by a team at NASA Headquarters in Washington’s Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate. According to Jim Free, associate administrator for the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate, these goals will lead to the first analog Mars mission with a crew in space and train them for the first human journey to the Red Planet’s surface. They will engage with their partners to discuss comments and finish the structure this autumn after assessing responses on the goals.

We also came to know from the sources that two stakeholder workshops will be held by the agency to discuss feedback on the proposed objectives. The first workshop is scheduled for June with partners from American industry and academia, who will be invited based on NASA’s interest in their feedback on the objectives, and the second meeting is scheduled for July with international groups. Internal NASA mechanisms are also being used to collect feedback from the workforce to contribute to the updated objectives.
