The Delhi government has today launched a dedicated mobile app to help people locate the status of total hospital beds and ventilators in the union territory. Launched as Delhi Corona, the app is currently available for download on Android devices. It is designed to make it easier to find health facilities for COVID-19 treatment. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the launch of the Delhi Corona app via a Livestream. According to the CM, the ‘Delhi Corona’ app can be used to find health facilities offered by both government and private hospitals in the capital city.
Arvind Kejriwal while addressing the media via Livestream said, “This app will tell you how many hospital beds are empty and how many are currently in use.”
The Delhi Corona app lists all government and private hospitals that treat COVID-19 patients. It also shares information on the total beds as well as the number of ventilators being used in the hospital as well as the beds lying vacant, to help people in emergencies. The app also supports both Hindi and English languages.
One good thing here is that the user does not require any kind of registration to get information from the Delhi Corona app. To download the app, you just have to go to Google Play from your Android device. The app also gives people such features as self-assessment tools, guidelines, and important helplines. It also includes links to services such as ration, e-pass, and hunger/shelter relief centers. Apart from this, you can also see the information of the Containment Zone in it and can also access the Delhi Government’s WhatsApp Coronavirus Helpline directly through the Delhi Corona App.
With more than 11,500 active cases and at least 523 fatal cases so far, Delhi has surpassed the number of 20,000 coronavirus cases, as per official data available on the MyGov site.
