Why Elon Musk Voted for Republican’s Mayra Flores in a massive red wave in Texas
Elon Musk recently said that he has voted for Mayra Flores, a Republican candidate, for the first time. Mayra Flores has won an open congressional seat in a special election conducted in South Texas. She beat Dan Sanchez, a leading Democrat, and prevails as the first Mexican-born congresswoman.

According to the reports Elon Musk has emphasized twice that he is planning to vote for Republicans in upcoming elections even though he has a record of voting for Barack Obama in the past. Musk’s SpaceX and Tesla are known to influence the U.S. political landscape for years through lobbying and donations of about $2 million in 2021. He is also been anti-union in many instances also voiced his against billionaire’s tax.
According to the interview of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, Musk has approved their red-state social politics which includes excessive abortion restrictions and a ban of LGBTQ memoirs from school curricula or libraries.
Mr. Musk tweeted in May 2022, “In the past, I voted Democrat because they were (mostly) the kindest party. But they have become the party of division and hate..”
The tweet raised controversies regarding Mr. Musk’s political status across the U.S.
