11 years of King Virat Kohli, lets have a look at it!!
Former India captain and a stalwart in Indian cricket, Virat Kohli has completed 11 glorious years in Test cricket. It was on the 20th June, 2011 we came across a Delhi boy who we never though would raise the standards of the game so high in the country and globally as well.
With 40 wins in 68 games, Virat Kohli has led India in most number of Test matches and also won the highest number of Test matches among all Indian captains, though mostly winning at home, he has definitely made a mark for himself and will probably go down as the most successful Test captain in history.
Although, it wasn’t a memorable debut for the RCB players as he only scored 19 runs in the entire match, he made 4 in the first innings and 15 in the second one. He was dismissed by Fidel Edwards both times.
According to his stats, his favourite opponent is South Africa, he also recorded his highest Test score against the Proteas, 254 in Pune in 2019. Under Kohli, the Indian team was the No. 1 Test side for five consecutive years, he revolutionized Indian cricket and took India to the top in the whites.
Recently he played his 100th Test match in Mohali against Sri Lanka. He captained India from 2015 – 22 and is the fourth most successful Test captain only behind Graeme Smith, Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh.
Kohli also shared a video on Instagram to celebrate his special milestone.
