Fact Check: Did the government of India passed an order to ban Chinese apps
The Government Of India on Friday invalidated a viral message asserting that the Ministry of Electronics and IT (Meity) had put limitations on a few “Chinese applications” in India. The message has been doing rounds of the Internet, asserting that the National Informatics Center (NIC) that goes under the Meity, has requested that Apple and Google confine Chinese-source applications on Google Play and App Store with “prompt impact.” The supposed rundown of Chinese-cause applications in the viral phony message included TikTok, Clash of Kings, Game of Sultans, Vigo Video, and then some.
In a tweet, the Government’s Press Information Bureau (PIB) certainty checked the viral message and named it counterfeit, saying that the message was not given by NIC.
