Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) reportedly blocks multiple websites of hack-for-hire collective

Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) reportedly blocked several malicious domains and websites which was used by the hacker group named hack-for-hire, against various targets worldwide.

Also, the hack-for-hire operators works as a ‘freelance’ threat actors. They are known for their great hacking skills and are usually hired by a firm, for their services. Consequently, the hack-for-hire hides the identity of their clients in the cyberattacks such that their clients won’t get revealed during the investigation.

Hack-for-hire groups have targeted several individuals and organizations for hacking and stealing data. Their victims also includes various politicians, journalists, activists, etc globally.

Accordingly, the Google TAG is tracing several hack-for-hire operators and their campaigns globally. Till now, Google TAG has traced such malicious operators from several countries including India which were linked to offensive security providers, Appin and Belltrox. Also, Russian hack-for-hire threat actor was traced which has attacked several journalists, politicians and multiple NGOs across Europe. A UAE-based hack-for-hire collective was also tracked by the Google TAG, linked to H-Worm’s developers. This collective primarily targeted government, education and political organizations in the Middle East and North Africa.
