Virat Kohli left out in upcoming Windies T20I series
Indian team squad will be facing West Indies in the T20I series later this month. As per reports, former captain Virat Kohli has reportedly himself asked for rest from the entire tour of West Indies and now news has just come out from PTI, that the RCB player will be rested for the T20I series.
We all have seen in recent time, Kohli is not going through the best of his form across format as per the standards he’s set for himself, now the batter is set to miss out the five T20Is the Men in Blue will play in the Caribbean. The squad for the T20I was announced after the conclusion of the England T20I series.
Moreover, Virat also had a terrible series against the English T20I side, he made scores of 1 and 11 in the second and third game. Hence, his place in India’s squad for the Asia Cup is also under extreme scrutiny now. If the batter recovers and is fit to play the remainder of the England ODI series, he will need to put up a much needed show with the bat.
“However for the T20I series, all others are playing but Kohli has himself asked for a break. He has informed that he will be available for all the series after the West Indies tour,” a senior BCCI source said.
