Ben Stokes withdraw’s from The Hundred
England red ball captain Ben Stokes has pulled out of the opening skirmishes of The Hundred in order to rest and prepare for the Test series against South Africa. He was to appear for the Northern Superchargers but will take a break after the ODI series against the Proteas and ahead of the Test matches.
Stokes will feature in the ODI series against the African team, but he has given a rest to the white ball in order to manage his workload and fitness.
With this, Stokes is giving much more priority to ‘Bazball’ rather than a 100 ball cricket game. Stokes will play against the Durham crowd for just the third time and for the first time as a Test captain. Moreover, Durham is Stokes homeground.
With the franchise cricket being a trend in the modern world now, the franchise cricket has become highly popular in each country, every nation possible has its own cricket league.
As a player, you can’t be good at everything and anytime, Stokes now being the Test captain, sure has some serious responsibility.
Jonny Bairstow is the only all format player who has put his hand up for as much cricket as he can lay his hands on, only missing the India T20s before handing out his bat in everything else.
