5G Auction: The 6th round of the auction, Jio has been the highest bidder
Today is Day 2 of the 5G Spectrum Auction process, so far five round of bidding has been done and the sixth round is currently underway.
According to the reports of CNBC, round 6 is not likely to last for a long time. Some are estimating that round may be the last round for bidding.
As far as the takeaways are concerned, there has been some interesting numbers from the ministry. The bid that happened on day 1 was 1.45 lakh crore rupees. It was massively higher than the government’s estimation for about 80,000 crore rupees.
The 700 MHz spectrum which remained unsold in 2016 and 2021 was bid by Jio across all circles.
While many telecom providers have been bidding for the mid-range spectrum, the Adani group is also seen to bid in for the high spectrum.
These are currently the initial details of the ongoing auction and let’s see whether round 6 will be the last round in the 5G Spectrum Auction.
