Irfan Pathan
He was the next big thing in Indian cricket at one time, although his career came to a premature end due to various reasons. However, between 2003 and 2008, he was regarded as India’s best fast bowler and took 100 wickets in 29 test matches, which included India’s only second hattrick. Moreover, Irfan has seven 5 wicket hauls and two 10 wickets per match to his name.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
If the Bhuvi would have been regular in Test cricket, he would have been a permanent member of the Test squad, however, after 2017, he has played 21 tests and taken 63 wickets. He can swing those bananas both ways and his bowling average and economy of 26.1 and 2.94 are among the best in Indian history.
Karsan Ghavri
The first Indian fast-bowler to take 100 wickets in a Test match, Karsan Ghavri was India’s premier fast bowler till 1980. Ghavri played 39 test matches and took 109 test wickets, which also included four 5-wicket hauls in the years between 1974 and 1981.
Zaheer Khan
Zak boy is probably the most influential bowler in the past two decade, one of the main reasons for India’s 2011 World Cup glory. Zaheer Khan has been a huge success for the Men in Blue in Tests and ODIs and his left arm pace was a danger sign for many batsman.
Javagal Srinath
The first Indian fast bowler to touch the 150 kmph mark on the speedometer, Javagal Srinath for the spearhead of the Indian bowling lineup for almost 10 years. Moreover, he was India’s lone regular fast bowler during the late 1990s. Between 1991 and 2002, Javagal Srinath played 67 test matches for the Indian cricket team, which was more than any other Indian fast bowler.
Kapil Dev
There has never been, and there probably never will be, a better Indian Fast Bowler than Kapil Dev Nikhanj. Between 1994 and 2001, he was the world record holder of most wickets by a bowler in test cricket. To compliment that, he had an economy of only 2.78 and took 23 five-fors in his career. Kapil had a test career that lasted longer than any other Indian fast bowler as he represented India in 131 matches between 1978 and 1994.
