Hardik Pandya; the rise of Kung Fu Pandya

With his spectacular and improved show on the field, the IPL 2022 winning captain has most likely got himself a promotion, the all-rounder is likely to be India’s vice-captain for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. As per the reports in InsideSport, it is learned that Hardik is likely to be handed the leadership role because of KL Rahul’s fitness issue.

KL Rahul has missed a total of 7 series till now in the year 2022, which is not a good sign for the Indian squad.

“Hardik is a world-class player and it’s great to have him back in the team at full fitness. Whether he will be named vice-captain is up to the selectors. But he is already a leader in the group. As an all-rounder, he understands both situations. He has outstanding leadership skills and we saw that in the IPL. He will surely do well,” said a senior BCCI official.

After his recovery, Pandya gave a good reply to his critics by lifting the IPL 2022 trophy with Gujarat Titans. Moreover, he has contributed heavily with both bat and ball for the Men in Blue lately.

Hardik also lead the Indian side in a two match T20I series against Ireland, India whitewashed the Irishmen completely.

A good deputy to Rohit Sharma on the cards now, the T20 World Cup side will be more or less the same of the Asia Cup as per reports.
