Earth to be hit by Solar storm soon after hole opens in the sun

On Sunday, the earth could be hit by a solar storm soon due to the material flowing out of the hole in the sun.

According to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the G1 class storm could cause radio communication problems, disrupt satellites, and also disrupt the migrations of animals.

The organization believes that such conditions were expected on Wednesday, 3 August, as a result of a hole in the sun.

Coronal holes appear as dark patches on images of the Sun when they are taken using ultraviolet and X-rays. They are cooler and less dense parts of our star, which means that the solar wind is more easily able to escape into space, The Independent reports.

It means that the fast streams of solar wind can be thrown out of the Sun and might direct toward Earth.

The stream will glance at the atmosphere, resulting in potential effects both in the space just above us and down the Earth.

The formation of Coronal holes can happen at any time, Although they occur more during the time of solar minimum. Currently, we are moving out of such a time and towards the solar maximum, where the Sun’s activity rises in intensity, which is likely to come sometime around 2025.
