ISRO marks Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with new digital platform “Spark”

India is on its way to celebrate its 75th year of Independence with new enthusiasm. The Government of India will mark 75 years of the nation’s Independence with a nationwide event, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. The nation will hold various programmes to mark the event. The event officially commenced on 12 March 2021 and will continue till 15 August 2023.

As various sectors in the nation will organise various kind of programmes, the Indian Space Research Organisation has marked the event in its own way too. ISRO is presenting an innovative idea of showcasing digital content pertaining to various ISRO missions. To facilitate this, the ISRO launched the Virtual Space Museum “Spark” today on 10 August 2022. The Secretary, DOS/Chairman of ISRO launched it today for public use.

This platform houses various documents, images and videos related to ISRO launch vehicles, satellites and scientific missions. Officials of the various departments of ISRO appreciated this new initiative. This includes the Chairman, ISRO and Directors of the various ISRO centres.  Additionally they also suggested to bring in non-sensitive digital content to the newly launched platform, so that the various stakeholders will be benefited by it.

The beta version of the application is already made available for access in the official website of ISRO.
