Karim Benzema wins UEFA Player of the Year
French star Karim Benzema has emerged as the winner of the UEFA Player of the Year award after the amazing 2021-22 season where he conquered the Champions League title and won it for Real Madrid for their 14th time.
Benzema scored 15 goals and made 1 assist in the 12 matches during the 2021-22 edition of the Champions League, moreover, Real winning the title was also courtesy and much credit to Benzema for his phenomenal display on the pitch.
Also, the Real Madrid striker will also be getting his hands on his maiden Ballon d’Or, which will take place in October. Benzema was on top of the world last season and had the best season ever last time.
However, with the presence of players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Kaka, Benzema was never the centre attraction, he has been under the roots for too long now, he needs to keep shining and certainly get some global awards to his name.
Other than Karim Benzema, Belgians and one of his club teammate Thibaut Courtois and Kevin de Bruyne were nominated also with him in the race for the UEFA Player of the Year.
