NASA’s Artemis I mission is set to launch this month, on August 29, 2022. The mission course is of about to four to six-week.
Artemis I, formerly known as Exploration Mission-1, is the first uncrewed test flight in NASA’s Artemis program. Also, it is the first flight of NASA’s Space Launch System rocket and the complete Orion spacecraft. Consequently, the flight would provide a foundation for the human deep space exploration and will indicate human’s capability to extend their existence to the Moon and beyond the space.
Accordingly, the spacecraft will be launched on one of the most powerful rocket in the world. It will travel around 2,80,000 miles, that means to 4,50,000 km from Earth. During the mission, Orion will stay in the space longer for the astronauts and then will return to earth even faster than before.
Along with this mission, NASA will also land the first woman and first person of color on the Moon. Also, NASA will be collaborating with the international partners for this mission. Consequently, NASA is aiming to establish the first long-term existence on the Moon. After this mission will be successful, NASA will be taking its next big step: sending the first astronauts to Mars.
