Google introduced emojis for Google Docs now easier to imply in sentences, Here’s how you can do it

After bringing emoji reactions for users to use in Google Docs a few months ago, the company is now making it easier to include them in your actual document as well. It announced today a new shortcut for Doc users worldwide. The new method will help you insert an emoji while writing, and eliminate the need to open your computer’s picker. You no more need to copy and paste icons from other places.

The inserting the emoji launch was brought up this year by Google in the first week of April. However, users were able to use the function after 20th April, 2022. This feature launch had already sent a lot of appraisals to the Google team and now that there is a shortcut for it, netizens’ applauds are not going to stop any sooner.

There are several ways provided, simplest of all is to just type @[emoji name]. This will immediately bring up the most apt emoji for you to insert in between or after your text. Google mentions these ways in its help document.  Another way is to type @ : [emoji name] . This is slightly different to the previous way which did not require a colon in between.

According to Google, this feature will run right from today, for some users. For those who fail to use it in their system, it will probably roll out from September as it is the month when the feature will be completely public. The ones able to use it earlier are basically the Google Workspace customers, legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers. “The feature stands available to users with personal Google Accounts”, mentions Google.
