A massive fire broke out at an EV showroom on the ground floor in Hyderabad and got spread to Hotel Ruby Pride above on it. In this incident, eight people were found dead and several others were injured.
When the fire erupted, some of the people jumped from the building. However, they were rescued by the locals and were admitted to the hospital. The root of the cause is still unknown. However, it has been expected that the fire might have been caused due to an short circuit in the charging unit of the scooters which were parked inside the showroom.
Accordingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the family members of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each for the injured will be given.
Earlier this year, several other electric vehicle showrooms has reported such incidents which has upraised the questions about the safety of humans and the electric two-wheelers in the country. Hence, it has become mandatory for the government to issue some safety measures to lessen such incidents.
