Ramiz Raja faces the wrath from former Pak cricketer
The 2022 T20 World Cup now merely a month away, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently announced on Thursday their 15-member squad for the tournament. Many big names like Shoaib Malik and Imad Wasim have been left out of the squad.
However, irregular player in team, Shan Masood has also been renamed back in the squad.
But, it seems like ex- Pakistani player and legendary spinner, Saeed Ajmal is not too pleased with the selection of young gun Mohammad Haris in the team.
The player, who also wears the gloves behind the wicket, has not featured even in a single T20I so for the Shaheens, despite this, he has made it to the World Cup squad. He has only played 4 ODIs but has not got the eyes of anyone with his performance, making only 10 runs.
Now, Ajmal has made a huge claim on the selection of Haris, saying that PCB chairman Ramiz Raja “likes” him which is the reason for Haris’ inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad.
“Mohammad Haris is selected because he is Ramiz Raja’s choice, he is his favourite. Ramiz Raja likes him, that’s why they kept him,” Ajmal said on his official YouTube channel.
“If you want to go by performance, Sarfaraz (Ahmed) has been performing well in the (domestic) T20s. You could have kept him in the reserves,” the spin legend further said.
Moreover, Pakistan will open their T20 World Cup campaign against archrivals India on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
