India will experience a record smartphone sale of Rs. 61,000 crore during this festive season
According to the sources, we came to know that India is expected to experience record smartphone sales throughout the holiday season because of ongoing promotions on both online and retail channels. One out of every three cellphones sold during the holiday season will be 5G equipped, according to a survey released on Tuesday. It is estimated that smartphone manufacturers would sell about $7.7 billion (about $61,000 crore) worth of devices.
Based on Counterpoint Research, e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon India are predicted to account for about 61% of total sales, down from 66% last year. Although unit sales may decrease by 9%, the average selling price (ASP) of smartphones during the holiday season will increase 12% to its highest level ever at $242. (on-year). The survey said that India’s smartphone market is entering this holiday season with the greatest channel inventory of almost 10 weeks. This year, Amazon’s Great India Festival and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days will kick off the sales on September 23. With the Diwali sale, the holiday shopping season will come to an end.
The retail ASP (average selling price), like the total value, would be the highest ever and might see an increase of 12–15% YoY, according to Research Director Tarun Pathak. Demand from consumers is probably very strong, particularly in the mid-tier and luxury segments. The companies and networks have already declared on social media the numerous promos and discounts aimed at the Rs 15,000 sectors. The offline market participants are promoting promotions and offers that are comparable to those of their online competitors in terms of channels.
