5 Surface products are launched by Microsoft : here is the leaked information
Microsoft launched five Surface products on September 22, 2021, at its Autumn hardware launch event, including the Surface Pro 8, Surface Duo 2, Surface Laptop Studio, Surface Go 3, and Surface Pro X. Despite multiple rumors about Microsoft holding a similar event in 2022, there has been no official communication from the company about such plans until recently.
Several leakers previously claimed that Microsoft had decided to move the event to the second week of October, with one even claiming that it could take place on October 11. These predictions have mostly come true, as Microsoft has confirmed that its next Surface launch event will take place on October 12, 2022, at 10 a.m.
Some of these leakers have previously discussed the new products Microsoft may announce at this event, with the Surface Pro 9 5G 2-in-1, Surface Laptop 5, and Surface Studio 3 being the most anticipated. In addition to these products, the much-anticipated Surface Gaming Laptop could be unveiled at this event.
While most of these rumors focused on the products that Microsoft might release next month, a recent report from the usually reliable German tech blog WinFuture revealed interesting details about the Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 9 will be equipped with Intel’s latest generation Alder Lake processors, according to WinFuture. According to the report, the base variant of the Surface Pro 9 will use an Intel Core i5-1235U processor, while more powerful variants may use an Intel Core i7 1255U processor. The use of these chips should result in noticeable performance gains even for the product’s base variant, with a 22% improvement in overall performance over last year’s model.
The Surface Laptop 5 is expected to have the same processor options as the Surface Pro 9, with the base variants receiving an Intel Core i5-1235U chip and the top variant receiving an Intel Core i5-1235U chip. The European version of the Surface Laptop could have up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM. In addition to these minor changes, the Surface Pro 9 is expected to receive two new color options called Forest and Sapphire. Both of these Surface products are not expected to be inexpensive.
