Check out why was Nokia N91 a technological wonder in the early 2000’s era
In April 2005, the Nokia N91, N70, and N90 were all made publicly available. These three mobile phones were the first N series-branded products.
The S60 3rd Edition, based on Symbian, drove the N91 (the first to run on Symbian 9.1). The first internal hard drive found in a phone was a 4 GB model that held 3,000 songs; an 8 GB model soon followed.
The N91 is strongly geared toward music, with specialized music buttons on the front that retract to reveal the keypad. It had a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which was expected to be a severe threat to Apple, whose iPod controlled the market. The N91’s design is built upon matte-finished stainless steel.
Because it contained a real 8GB hard drive, this phone was a marvel of technology. You might laugh at this technology now, but in 2005, a smartphone with an 8GB hard drive would have been unfathomable.
It ran Series 60 UI 3rd Edition and Symbian 9.1, thus, this phone was a capable smartphone. Watch this brief video that I found on 9GAG if you’ve ever been curious about the appearance of this piece of equipment.
In the end, the N91 was released in April 2006. Throughout its existence, the phone generated sales of about €380 million from the sale of more than 1.3 million devices.
