Since the third-generation model debuted earlier, the fourth-generation iPhone SE has been the subject of rumors. Rumors’ assertion is consistent with a previous prediction made by display analyst Ross Young, who predicted that the next iPhone SE would have a 6.1-inch screen with a “notch” cutout at the top of the screen. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo initially claimed that the company was developing an iPhone SE with a 6.1-inch LCD display back in 2019. Since the iPhone XR has a 6.1-inch LCD screen with a notch, most speculations appear to agree on how the next-generation iPhone SE would look.

Here is what we know from the rumors

The next iPhone SE model is rumored to be based on the iPhone XR from the initial notch period. According to leaker Jon Prosser, Ian Zelbo utilized information from an unnamed source to produce these 3D renderings.

The original notch is back and it’s here. The iPhone 13 series was the first to feature a smaller notch last year. Say farewell as well to the actual home key and the fingerprint reader.

The chipset is the only significant hardware improvement we can anticipate. The iPhone XR, SE (2022), and iPhone 14 non-Pro pair all use Apple A12 processors. Since the A16 chip appears to be too expensive for an SE model, the A15 is essentially the only alternative left. Apple can provide a little boost over the existing SE using the A15’s 5-core GPU variant.

Apart from that, we could also see a larger battery and/or quicker charging, as well as additional RAM. The iPhone SE (2022) and the iPhone 8, upon which it is built, differ mostly in those ways, with the main difference being a desire to keep up with the times.

The charging port is the final item. It’s probable that the USB-C connector will take the place of the illumination. The phone will nevertheless go on sale before the deadline, so it may continue to use Lightning. However, the final iPad holdover has switched to Type C, so it might be time to move on.
