Xiaomi dominates Indian Smartphone Market in 3rd Quarter 2022
Xiaomi is the most loved smartphone brand by Indians, and this was proven once again by the 3rd quarter’s market share data.
According to the Market Research Firm Canalys, Xiaomi had the maximum share in the Indian market during the 3rd quarter.
Xiaomi wasn’t affected by the drop of 6% in shipment drop in comparison to last year’s 3rd quarter.
The data by Market Research Firm Canalys tells that Xiaomi holds 21% of the market with a sale of 9.2 million units.
On number 2 we have Samsung with a share of 18% and sales of 8.1 million units, followed by Vivo and IQOO with 7.3 million units sold and 16% of the market share.
Oppo is number 4 with a share of 15% and 7.1 million units in the sale.
During the 3rd quarter, all the brands were struggling because of inflation and recession in the market.
The Independence sale and early Monsoon were the factors that affected the sales and helped the companies in surviving the 3rd quarter.
According to Sanyam Chaurasiya, Canalys Analyst, “The good news is, as the festival season began, in the last few weeks of the quarter, consumer demand improved. Hit by inflation, entry-level device contribution declined this year, while the mid-to-high segment performed relatively well thanks to aggressive promotion. Oppo’s OnePlus and Vivo’s IQOO were the two brands driving mid-range growth in the e-commerce channel during this period.”
