Maruti is to increase the production capacity of different plants to fulfil market demand
According to the PTI, Maruti Suzuki India is likely to increase its production capacity in its different plants all across India. Manesar plant is to see an increase of one lakh units because of enhanced demand in the market.
This decision was taken by Maruti before the Sonipat operation started, which is supposed to start by 2025. The increase in demand doesn’t only cause a production hike in Manesar but also in the Gurugram plant. If we talk about the current manufacturing status of its plants we will see that Maruti India produces 15 lakh units per annum from both of the plants.
Additionally, 7.5 lakh units are manufactured in Gujarat. The Haryana Kharkhoda plant that will start manufacturing in 2025 will produce 2.5 lakh units in the first phase. At present Gurugram plant manufactures models like Ertiga, XL6, Eeco and Alto, S-Presso, Celerio, Brezza, and Dzire from the Manesar facility. For increasing, production multifold company has planned to invest ₹11,000 crores in the first phase of the Sonipat facility.
