A recent tweet made by Apple’s current Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook confirms that Apple iPhones use Sony’s image sensors. He has also shared his gratitude towards Kenichiro Yoshida, the CEO of Sony.

The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook has now admitted in a tweet that Apple iPhones use Sony’s image sensors in the device. Even if there were a lot of talks regarding this, Apple had never confirmed it.

Tim Cook claims that Apple had been working with Sony for more than a decade in making the best image sensors for its smartphones.

Numerous reports on the Apple iPhone devices were published previously on websites like Wall Street Journal, iFixit and the Nokkei Asia regarding this.

This is the first time a person from Apple is confirming about its specifications. Usually Apple never reveals their phone’s internal specifications and thus the news is well shared.

The CEO of Sony, Kenichiro Yoshida, had also showed Cook throughout their Kumamoto facility. This indicates that Apple will be continuing their partnership with Sony.

Sony has also developed a new image sensor with a semiconductor architecture which will allow more light to enter thereby reducing the chances for underexposed and overexposed images. Most likely the upcoming Apple iPhones might have it.

In the Tweet, Cook has also expressed his gratitude towards Kenichiro Yoshida.
