Know how to Emergency dial on your Samsung Galaxy with one tap | One UI 5

With the update of Samsung’s new Android firmware One UI 5, Samsung has also introduced a new and improved feature of the Fast Emergency Dialer. This feature will aid you in your emergencies.

FED, which stands for Fast Emergency Dialer, is a feature in the new Android update of Samsung Galaxy that enables the device to create a list of all available emergency service numbers (Police, Fire, and medical department) based on your current location.  FED forms the main screen launcher for the emergency dialer.

Additionally, for further quick procedures, there is also an option that allows you to save your medical information for quick access. You can save the information with the help of the ‘View medical info’ button on the Emergency call screen. The green floating button at the bottom of the screen navigates to the Traditional Emergency Dialer (TED).

Traditional Emergency Dialer (TED) consists of an ‘In Case Of Emergency (ICE)’ list where you save your closed one’s contact numbers along with a keypad.

Ways to access the emergency call feature:-

  • Use the “Emergency call” button on the phone’s lock screen
  • Use the “Emergency SOS” button from the power menu

Manage personal emergency contacts:-

Path 1: Settings > Safety and emergency > Emergency contacts

Path 2: Contacts > My profile > Emergency contacts

The features ensure your safety and safeguard your emergencies. Update quickly!
