18 year old ‘Baby AB’ Dewald Brevis says Sachin Tendulkar is his childhood hero

18-year-old, South African batsman, Dewald Brevis has been given the moniker ‘Baby AB.’ His extraordinary batting style had been unveiled during the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022. However, the team did not win, Dewald Brevis was successful in displaying his power-packed performance in the tournament. He was titled as the highest run-scorer in the match. He picked up 506 runs in only six innings at an average strike rate of 84.33. He also made the highest number of sixes and fours in the Under-19 World Cup. This youngster has been given the title ‘Baby AB’ due to the similarities of his batting style to that of AB De Villiers.

Recently, he gained the limelight at the TATA IPL Mega Auction 2022, where one of the most successful IPL franchises, Mumbai Indians (MI) brought him for Rs 3 crores. The player was at a base price of Rs 20 lakhs at the auction table by virtue of being an uncapped player.

In an interview, Brevis revealed that he is honoured to be a part of that franchise and it has a good record of winning the IPL. He reveals his childhood inspiration and says that Sachin Tendulkar was one of his childhood heroes. He further told that he is excited to play under Rohit Sharma and he admires him a lot.
