Legendary singer and Bharat Ratna Award winner, Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last on February 6 in Mumbai. She was admitted to the hospital for a month due to her COVID-19 treatment. However, due to multi-organ failure, she passed away at the age of 92 at 8:12 am today. Arrangements are being made to shift her mortal remains to Shivaji Park for public honors.
Singer and composer, A R Rahman has shared a throwback picture with the iconic Lata Mangeshkar on Instagram to pay his respects to the singer. He captioned it, “Love ,respect and prayers.”

Several celebrities including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and actors like Akshay Kumar paid their last tributes to Lata Mangeshkar. PM Modi said in a recent tweet, “I consider it my honour that I have always received immense affection from Lata Didi. My interactions with her will remain unforgettable. I grieve with my fellow Indians on the passing away of Lata Didi. Spoke to her family and expressed condolences. Om Shanti.”
Singer Shreya Ghoshal also paid her last tribute to the late Lata Mangeshkar. She shared an old black and white picture of the singer. She captioned it, “Feeling numb. Devastated. Yesterday was Saraswati Puja & today Ma took her blessed one with her. Somehow it feels that even the birds, trees & wind are silent today. Swar Kokila Bharat Ratna #LataMangeshkar ji your divine voice will echo till eternity. Rest in peace. Om Shanti.”
