An Aerobic instructor accidently while filming an exercise routine in front of Myanmar’s parliament, unknowingly captured the first moments of a dramatic coup in the background of her video. This video is now viral giving her global fame and recognition.

The footage is taken in the capital, Naypyidaw; a resident Khing Hnin Wai appears to continue her workout as black SUVs drive up to a security checkpoint on the road leading to the Assembly of the Union complex behind her.

She informed that she’s been filming videos for over 11 months outside the assembly. There are a few of them posted on her Facebook page as well.

She continues with her moves without realising; as the cars behind her come briefly to a halt. Then, as she moves, small figures in silhouette can be seen rushing to open the barricade and let the cars through.

Khing Hnin said, “How harmonic with the background music and background scenery!” Khing Hnin Wai said. “Before I heard the news [of the coup] in the morning, the video I made for the aerobic dance competition has become an unforgettable memory.”

On Monday, Myanmar’s military detained state counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and other senior ruling party figures before declaring a state of emergency and taking power.
