Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair Arrested by Delhi Police
Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair was arrested by Delhi police under sections 153/295 IPC. He has been booked under this section which clearly intends to punish those who promote enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence and language, and doing acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony.

Mohammed Zubair, a co-founder of the propaganda website Alt News, removed a number of messages from his official Twitter account, zoo bear, on June 20. The Hawk Eye, a Twitter user, was the first to notice a difference in the volume of tweets. He said in a tweet that “Since the Hinduphobic posts exposed on 13–14 June midnight, and confessed by linked FB page deletion, Md Zubair’s extra-noisy Twitter activity chopped from an average of 44 tweets per day to -2 tweets per day. 28 tweets were deleted by him today (20 June).
