A mobile app for Electric Vehicle users to get access to real-time data on nearest active charging stations, is being developed
To provide electric car users with real-time information about the closest active charging stations while they are on the go, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is developing a smartphone app and a website.
According to people with knowledge of the most recent developments, the app and online portal will provide drivers on the go with real-time information about the closest active charging stations that are nearby on their journey. This software is reportedly being produced mostly by BEE, and it is hoped that their development will be completed soon.
The Power Ministry established guidelines for developing this softwares in January of this year.
The web portal and a smartphone app that offer real-time data on charging infrastructure will help improve mobility services, according to sources. The government is also making an effort to install modest charging stations along roads, in cities, and even in small towns, as well as to install smart meters on power poles in some locations. Owners of electric vehicles would receive smart cards that would allow them to charge their batteries almost anywhere.
According to insiders, BEE would create these chargers, which will include chargers for charging light electric vehicles like two- and three-wheelers. In addition to a capability for charging electric vehicles after user verification through a mobile app, these chargers would, according to BEE, have a built-in feature to measure and record the amount of given electric energy.
Additional sources claim that these chargers would be mounted on power poles in public parking lots.
