Apple and Porsche AG to come together soon under a joint venture
Porsche executives travelled to the United States late last year to discuss possible cooperative ventures with iPhone maker Apple (AAPL.O) and other tech businesses, according to Porsche CEO Matthias Müller.
“We already have Apple CarPlay,” Chief Executive Oliver Blume stated during a video conference on the automaker’s annual results on Friday.
He said Porsche and Apple had a long history of working together and were “on the same page,” but that it was too early to make any judgments on future projects.
Porsche is also considering entering Formula One, according to Blume, but no decision has been taken.
The German daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung stated in January that Volkswagen’s supervisory board will determine whether both its luxury brands Audi and Porsche would compete in Formula One towards the end of February.
