Bajaj releases an official statement on the ongoing Triumph Speed 400 price rumors

Triumph Speed 400 was launched in India by Bajaj on July 5 with a price tag of Rs. 2.23 lakh. Many consumers were interested to buy this newly launched bike even though few of the buyers pre-booked this bike in order to receive it as soon as its first sale starts. But recently an image went viral that showed the on-road price of this bike much higher than its actual price which resulted in the rise of rumors that the consumers will be cancelling their bookings.

As per the above image, the ex-showroom price of the bike was Rs.2.33 lakh whereas the road tax was Rs.46,533, and delivery charges were mentioned as Rs.17,000. Even the intro kit was charged for Rs.8,500 and after calculating all the charges the on-road value of the bike was Rs.3,38,598 which is obviously higher than the actual pricing. The photo leaked was from a Triumph dealer in Karnataka that created a lot of buzz over the internet.

To clarify the controversy and confusion among the consumers Bajaj has released an official press release for its customers and media.

According to this release Bajaj has till now not issued any on-road price guidelines for its dealers. Hence this viral photo is completely false. The company also mentioned that state-specific ex-showroom and on-road pricing will be released closer to delivery.

While on the pricing they also mentioned that Triumph Speed 400 has been launched at ex-showroom price, Delhi at Rs.2.23 lakhs for the first 10,000 consumers and after that, the price will be moved back to its regular price which is Rs.2.33 lakhs.
