This brings us to the latest development of the incorporation of the logo of the California-based instant messaging platform, WhatsApp on the steering wheels of the cars of the Mercedes-Benz F1 team from the year 2024.
For the last few years, WhatsApp has been integrating new modes of engagement, which even opened up expansions of the platform in the world of sports. With new features like WhatsApp Channels, franchises like UFC and NASCAR started engaging with their audiences through it.
Along with them, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team was also one of the early birds who adopted the WhatsApp Channels feature.
WhatsApp signed its first sports sponsorship with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team in November 2023. It was the same time when the F1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix was launched.
The driver uses the radio button, now with the WhatsApp logo to communicate with the team radio. The new Formula 1 season is scheduled for 2 March 2024 and as the audience anticipates it eagerly, they will get to see the WhatsApp logo a lot when the broadcasters of the race switch to the in-cameras of the Mercedes drivers. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are the Mercedes drivers who will participate in the new Formula 1 season, 2024.
