Hyundai Creta test mule spotted on Chennai Bangalore Expressway without radiator and exhaust

In the market of compact SUVs, Hyundai Creta has a big name with sales up to 10k to 15k per month. Stelos joining the market takes this sale up to 20k to 24k which is quite high. Hyundai is reportedly working on a Hyundai Creta EV version that is likely to come into the market by 2025. This new Creta EV has been spied on by the Team-BHP member MAS who said “Saw the zero camouflaged Creta Electric on Chennai Bangalore Expressway yesterday. No exhaust, No radiator. The driver was driving pretty fast. Both the bumpers were of a different shade of silver when compared to the body”.

The image reveals that this new Creta wears the same design as the existing Creta with no such changes. According to the reports, this battery pack could be derived from the Kona EV. If the speculation goes right we will see this compact SUV being powered by a 100 kW electric motor which delivers 136 hp power and 395 Nm torque. And the range of Creta EV will be over 400 Km on a single charge. With the introduction of Creta EV, we might see some other companies like Kia also gearing up for the launch of such an EV model.

The production of the EV Creta might start by 2024 end. The company may go ahead to showcase this car at the 2025 Auto Expo.
