Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N Named 2024 EV of the Year by Car and Driver, Marking Third Consecutive Win for Hyundai
Car and Driver has officially announced the Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N high-performance electric SUV 2024 EV of the Year. This is the third straight year when a Hyundai car has got this honor following IONIQ 6 (2023) and standard IONIQ 5 (2022).
“We are incredibly thrilled that our segment-disrupting IONIQ 5 N has won Car and Driver’s impressive 2024 EV of the Year honor,” said Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product Planning and Mobility Strategy, Hyundai Motor North America. “With industry-shaping new EV features like N e-shift and N Grin Boost transforming EV driving engagement like never before, it’s rewarding to be acknowledged by Car and Driver with this significant award.”
Hyundai had to beat electric vehicles from brands like Acura, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Fiat, Fisker, Honda, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Tesla, and Volkswagen to become a winner. This car has been praised by the Car and Driver for its ability to cure electric car boredom. If we talk about the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N it is the first dedicated EV from Hyundai’s high-performance N brand, that features an 84 kWh high-output battery and a high-performance all-wheel-drive system. It delivers a maximum output of 478 kW (650 horsepower) and a peak torque of 78.5 kgf·m. As far as pricing is concerned it comes with the price tag of nearly $67,500.
