India to witness three new car launches this week

Positive customer receptions are pacing up the Indian auto industry, which is facilitating new car launches in the country. This festive season is packed with three new car launches in the nation next week.

Tata Tiago EV

Tata Motors will launch its third electric vehicle, the Tiago EV on 28 September. This is expected to come in as the most affordable electric vehicle from the prestigious auto company. Styling elements from the ICE version would be repeated. Additionally, it will feature electric-blue highlights on the exterior and interior to distinguish itself from the regular model.

It will also borrow the 26kWh battery pack from the Tigor EV. This produces 74bhp and 170Nm of torque.

Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC

Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury auto manufacturer will reveal the prices for the locally assembled electric vehicle, the EQS 580 4MATIC on 30 September. Prior to its official launch, it has been updated that the upcoming model will be available at a starting price of Rs 1.70 crore (ex-showroom). Bookings for the vehicle have already started for a token amount of Rs 25 lakh.

The vehicle will feature two permanently excited synchronous motors (PSM). These are powered by a 107.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The vehicle will receive production of 516bhp and 855Nm of maximum torque. The vehicle will function at a top speed of 210kmph. It is also capable of sprinting from zero to 100kmph in 4.3 seconds.

Toyota flex-fuel-powered car

The brand new Toyota flex-fuel-powered car is expected to be introduced on 28 September. Although the company has not made any official announcement yet, word is that the new model could either be the Camry or the Corolla. The Minister for Road Transport and Highways of the Government of India, Nitin Gadkari, announced the new plans at the 63rd edition of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), which was held recently.
