An updated version of Mahindra’s top-of-the-line Alturas G4 SUV has been released. The Alturas G4’s line-up currently just includes the 2WD High, which costs Rs 30.68 lakh. The base 2WD and 4X4 versions of the SUV are no longer available from Mahindra.

The Fortuner costs Rs 6.5 lakh more than the Mahindra Alturas.

The 2WD model now receives the same gear as the 4X4.

The powertrain remains the same, and the 2WD High now has all of the same features as the formerly available 4WD model.

With this pricing, the Alturas G4 is Rs 6.5 lakh less than its main rival, the Toyota Fortuner diesel 2WD automatic (Rs 37.18 lakh). It is also less expensive than the standard MG Gloster disel (Rs. 32 lakh) by Rs. 1.32 lakh.

What’s new in this Mahindra Alturas G4 2WD High

Prior to this, the Gloster G4 was offered in both 2WD and 4X4 versions, with the latter having greater equipment. Rain-sensing wipers, automated headlights, a motorised tailgate, an electric driver’s seat with memory, and side and curtain airbags were all equipment that the 2WD model was missing out on. But the new 2WD High model now has the same features as the 4X4.

This means that it also comes with extras like 18-inch alloy wheels, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sunroof, and ambient lighting in addition to the amenities stated above.

The powertrain of the Alturas G4 remains unchanged, as was previously stated. It still has the same 181 horsepower, 2.2-liter diesel engine and 7-speed automated transmission as the Mercedes.

Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, and the recently upgraded MG Gloster are body-on-frame SUVs that compete with the slow-selling Alturas G4. The Alturas G4 is now the cheapest ladder frame contender. Additionally, it competes with the monocoque-based Jeep Meridian SUV, which has a starting price of Rs. 29.90 lakh.
