Tata Motors issues a statement giving a clarity on the ongoing advertising war between Tata and MG Electric Cars

Advertising war between auto manufacturers is quite common for a few years but the most recent was the advertising between Tata Motors and MG electric cars. The war started when a Tata dealership shared an image on Facebook that said “ Own a car, not a cartoon” in which the word cartoon implies the MG comet while the car referred to the electric car of Tata.

Well now in response to this sarcastic image, MG Comet shared an image stating, “ Drive something sexy, say TATA to taxi “which suggested that TATA cars are outdated and good for commercial use while MG cars were implied to be modern and trendy.

This advertising war was done by the respective brands to distinguish themselves from one another and to get a share in the growing electric car market. Not only this MG Comet shared many images criticizing the cars of TATA motors which kept on increasing the rivalry.

Finally speaking on this matter, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility released an official statement via Twitter giving a clarification on the ongoing controversy.

As per the official announcement, the automobile company claimed that the image circulating on social media platforms showcasing their vehicle and another OEM’s vehicle was not distributed by them. Also, the company mentioned that they advised their channel partners to refrain from engaging with this matter.

This clearly pointed out that Tata Motors was not behind this controversy as claimed by the company and maybe the advertising war was just done to spice up controversy between the two companies.
