Tesla to open its first showroom in Mumbai’s BKC; Second showroom expected to open in Delhi’s Aerocity complex

In a recent report, it was revealed that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is considering starting retail operations in India by April 2025. The company was said to finalize locations for company-owned showrooms in Aerocity in Delhi and BKC in Mumbai while Tesla also posted on its website, openings for 13 jobs in Mumbai hinting that soon Tesla showroom will open in the Indian market.
Well as per a report by Times of India, Tesla has finalized a deal to open its first showroom in Mumbai’s BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex). It is reported that Tesla will occupy a 4,000 sq.ft space on the ground floor of a commercial tower in BKC, where it will showcase its car models. The monthly lease rent is close to Rs 900 a sq ft or around Rs 35 lakh a month. The lease agreement is said to be for five years while Tesla is expected to open a second showroom in Delhi’s Aerocity complex.
It was earlier said that Tesla is considering importing electric cars from Berlin, Germany to India. The company may launch its first EV in India for Rs 21 lakhs. The news of Tesla starting its operations in India in April 2025 and Tesla posting about job openings started after PM Narendra Modi and Elon Musk met in Washington last month where the two discussed various issues that included space, mobility, technology, and innovation.
