Tesla to sell imported EVs in India from April 2025; May open showrooms in Mumbai and Delhi

A few days back, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Elon Musk, the pictures of the meeting were shared by the PM on the X platform where he mentioned that the two discussed various issues that included space, mobility, technology, and innovation. Just after this meeting EV giant Tesla posted on its website openings for 13 jobs in Mumbai.
Out of these 13 job posts, 4 were in vehicle service, 6 in sales and customer support, and three in operations and business support. This hinted that Tesla may soon make its way into the Indian market. Well CNBC TV 18 revealed that as per its sources, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is considering starting retail operations in India by April 2025.
It is said that Tesla is considering importing electric cars from Berlin, Germany to India. The company may launch its first EV in India for Rs 21 lakhs. Reportedly, Tesla has finalized locations for company-owned showrooms in Aerocity in Delhi and BKC in Mumbai. The company is likely to start operations in India in April 2025.
The job postings and finalizing showroom locations already hint that the preparations for Tesla’s debut in the Indian market have already started. Let’s see which Tesla model will be making its way first in the country.
