The Global EV Sales of Hyundai Motor Group Exceeds 1 Million Units: Here’s More About it
The global sales of the electric vehicles from Hyundai Motor Group has exceeded a total of 1 million units. Reports reveal that the car manufacturers was able to sell a total of 10,22,284 units at the end of December, 2023.

EV Sales of Hyundai Motor Group Exceeds 1 Million
Hyundai Motor Group had started its EV sales in 2011 with the BlueON electric vehicle and has by now sold a total number of 10,22,284 units all across the world.
Hyundai including its luxury brand, Genesis has sold a total of 6,01,448 units and its sister company, Kia sold a total of 420,836 units.
The first EV from Hyundai Motor Group, the BlueOn started its trial sales in Korea and was only able to sell a total number of 236 units in 2011. The numbers started to exceed 1,000 in 2014 and later in 2015, after the launch of the Soul EV from Kia, the numbers exceeded 10,000 units.
When newer EV models like the Hyundai Kona Electric and the Kia Niro EV were introduced, the sales in the European market also started increasing from 2019.
In 2021, the company released more EV models which included the Hyundai IONIQ 5, Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60 followed by the launch of its first sedan, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 in 2022.
All the new EV models helped the company to increase its EV sales around the world. Last year alone, the company was able to sell more than 1,00,000 electric vehicles.
Hyundai Kona Electric is the best selling EV of the Hyundai Motor Group and a total of 2,56,907 units were sold all across the world. The sales of Kia Niro EV has also reached 2,00,302 units followed by Hyundai IONIQ 5 which has sold 1,65,637 units and the KIA EV6 which has sold 1,12,893 units globally.
Hyundai Motor Group is also planning to add 31 new EV models to its EV platform with a vision to increase its annual sales to more than 3 million units.
