Toyota is initiating a offer to buy back its bZ4X electric SUV. It previously recalled the vehicle in June, two month’s after it’s release. The recall was initiated due to loose hub bolts on the wheel which could cause it to detach while driving.
Toyota initially advised the vehicle’s owners not to drive it and to inform the local dealers for a pick up. During the fixing period, the company would have provided customers with a free loaner car.
However, Toyota is now offering additional freebies in exchange for the inconvenience. This includes a $5000 credit, an extended warranty and free charging at EVgo-owned charging stations throughout the end of 2024. If a customer isn’t satisfied, Toyota will buy the $42, 000 and up vehicle.
Toyota informed about this in a letter to customers. However, it wasn’t mentioned when the issue will be fixed. The recall would impact around 2700 vehicles. Additionally the delivery status of some of these vehicles are unclear too.
Toyota mentioned in a statement that they are aware about their customers choices regarding purchasing a vehicle. Toyota asserted that they appreciate their customer’s loyalty and are providing their support through the initiated recall.
The bZ4X is Toyota’s first attempt to launch an all-electric vehicle. However, it’s commencement is coming across bumping roads at the start. The market hopes that Toyota will soon enhance all the remaining issues and deliver to more customers.
