Toyota Rumion 2023: a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota version of Fronx to soon hit the Indian market

The Indian market will soon be bestowed with two new badge-engineered Maruti Suzuki vehicles in 2023 by Toyota. One of them is the Rumion MPV, which is a badge-engineered Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The second upcoming badge-engineered Maruti Suzuki vehicle by Toyota is the Toyota version of Fronx.

Toyota Rumion 2023

The 2023 version of Toyota Rumion has already been launched in South Africa. The 2023 Toyota Rumion has received enhancement in certain aspects of its design. Grills on the front and lower bumper is newly designed. In terms of its design, customers will experience a taste of Toyota’s design. Other than that, most of the other features bear a resemblance to the Ertiga.

The Toyota Rumion 2023, was priced at Rand 296,900, which amounts to about Rs 13.52 lakh. It is to be noted that Maruti Suzuki Ertiga’s price lies in the range of Rs 8.64 lakh to up to Rs 13 lakh. Almost all of Toyota’s MPV is priced above Rs 10 lakh. Thus, the new Toyota Rumion, soon to be launched in India, would surely attract a new range of MPV customers.

Toyota version of Fronx

The upcoming rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx by Toyota would have similar features as that of the Toyota Glanza. This is because Toyota’s Glanza is a vehicle that already bears major similarities with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Now in the move of rebadging the Fronx, all Toyota seems to be bringing to the table is a new coupe profile and body cladding.

It is to be noted that Maruti Suzuki Fronx is priced between Rs 7.47 lakh to Rs 13.14 lakh. Thus, one can expect the Toyota version of Fronx to be priced somewhere in the same price range.

Other than the upcoming badge-engineered products, Toyota has previously launched Vitara Brezza, Urban Cruiser, Baleno and Glanza, Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the recent Innova Hycross and Invicto, in partnership with Maruti Suzuki as part of the badge-engineering movement.
