Upcoming Maruti Dzire Scores A 5 Star Global NCAP Star Rating For Adult Occupant Protection

Maruti will unveil its all-new 4th generation Dzire in India on 11th November. The company has already started the bookings of this SUV in the country while yesterday Maruti also officially unveiled the design of Maruti Dzire.

Now ahead of its upcoming launch, Maruti Dzire has achieved another milestone. This upcoming SU has become the first Maruti Suzuki model to receive a 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP crash test for adult occupant protection.

For child occupant protection, this SUV has received a 4-star rating. For adult occupancy, Maruti Dzire received 31.24 points out of 34 while it received 39.20 points out of 42 for child occupancy. This shows the brand’s commitment to vehicle safety enhancements.

Maruti Dzire tested by Global NCAP came equipped with six airbags, ESC, 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats, ISOFIX, mounts for rear outboard seats and front seatbelt pre-tensioner, and load limiter.

As per reports, the protection offered to the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck was good, although the driver’s chest showed marginal protection while the passenger’s chest protection was only adequate. Driver’s and passenger’s knees also showed good protection. It was also tested for a side impact test which showed good protection for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis.

Regarding child occupancy, both 18-month-old and 3-year-old CRS showed full protection during the crash. The Dzire however does not offer the possibility to disconnect the front passenger airbag in case a rearward-facing CRS is installed on the front passenger seat, which made the SUV lose some points.
