Vande Bharat Express, Phase-1 of Ahmedabad Metro rail project inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Vande Bharat Express, the first phase of the Ahmedabad Metro rail project, between Thaltej and Vastral, was formally inaugurated on Friday while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on board the train.

The project was launched on the east-west line of the metro rail after he flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train from Gandhinagar station in the morning.

The prime minister gave the metro train the all-clear to leave at Kalupur station. He then took a train and traveled there to reach the Thaltej metro station. Along with him on the trip were C R Paatil and Kirit Solanki, two-party legislators, and Gujarat’s chief minister Bhupendra Patel.

The 21-km, 17-station line between Thaltej and Vastral that is part of the project went into operation at the official opening. The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) issued a press statement stating that this line consists of a 6.6 km underground section with four stations.

The prime minister told the throng that today is a crucial day for urban connectivity, Aatmnirbhar Bharat, and India in the twenty-first century. He mentioned how much he loved riding the Metro in Ahmedabad and the Vande Bharat Train.

The sound inside the Vande Bharat Express, which the prime minister praised for its soundproofing, was reduced to a hundredth of what is experienced inside an airliner. The Prime Minister humorously acknowledged the intelligence and ingenuity of Ahmedabad commuters while praising Ahmedabad locals for their large attendance.

“I can not salute Ahmedabad enough, today, Ahmedabad has won my heart,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
