Volkswagen ID.4 GTX Revealed Officially in India: Likely to have its Launch Soon

Volkswagen’s all-new sporty EV ID.4 GTX has now been showcased in India. The EV had been spotted several times on Indian roads and was under testing procedures. Now the German company has officially unveiled the all-new Volkswagen ID.4 GTX to the media at the annual conference held in Kochi, Kerala.

The newly introduced EV will be a rival to Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and the GTX version will likely come at a price range between Rs. 50 lakhs and 60 lakhs.

Volkswagen ID.4 GTX

The Volkswagen ID.4 will be a new EV to the Indian market which had its global debut in 2020 and the GTX trim of Volkswagen’s ID.4 has now been showcased at the brand’s annual conference held in Kochi. GTX points to the sporty segment of Volkswagen’s EV range and the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX brings a lot of upgrades and design changes.

Speaking of its design, the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX features a lot of elements which include GTX badges, black roofs, glossy black air intake grilles, Anthracite roof bars, and rear spoilers. There are significant changes made to its LED lights both at the front and rear along with a new rear bumper design.

Coming to its interior, it has dark blue dashboard panels, leatherette door inserts, and red contrasting stitching along with premium sports seats which come as optional. It will also have a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well on its dashboard.

The powertrain of the ID.4 GTX comprises an asynchronous motor(ASM) on its front axle and a permanent magnet synchro machine(PSM) at its rear axle. Together, the motors will be able to deliver a maximum power of upto 299 horsepower with a max speed of 180 kilometers per hour and an o-100kph acceleration speed of 6.2 seconds.

Regarding its battery range, Volkswagon’s ID.4 GTX model is equipped with a 24-cell 77kWh lithium-ion battery and will be able to offer a range of upto 480km.

There is still no official confirmation regarding the launch of the ID.4 GTX in the Indian market, however, the company is planning to make a lot of announcements regrading its EV line-ups today at Kochi and hopefully, we can expect the launch of ID.4 GTX as one of the updates.
