Volvo Unveils EX30: A Powerful and Affordable Entry-Level EV SUV Outshining Mercedes GLA 4S

The new Volvo EX30, Volvo’s entry-level EV, has been unveiled globally. This small SUV has more power than the Mercedes GLA 4S and it is cheaper than the GLA 4S.

The Volvo EX30 is 4.2 meters long and is smaller than the Volkswagen ID3. This car is Volvo’s smallest electric SUV. It is styled after the EX90. Volvo hasn’t used any fake vents or big grilles on this car. There is a diagonal line across the bumper with the Volvo logo.

The headlights have a similar square pixel design to the EX90. There are black side skirts and horizontal lines down the doors and flush-fitting door handles.

The Volvo EX30 Cross Country variant has chunky off-road tires and additional black cladding. On the rear side, there are dotted brake lights which are again inspired by the EX90.

This EV’s infotainment is centered around a 12-inch touchscreen. This screen houses the speedometer, driving information, and the car’s climate control. This Google-based system has apps like Google Maps, Spotify, etc. in-built into them.

The Volvo EX30 comes with a 49kWh battery in the entry-level car, but all other versions have a larger 64kWh battery pack. 214 miles of range is claimed for the basic EV, which rises to 298 miles if you go for either a single or dual-motor car with a larger battery.

The EX30 single-motor version with 272hp has a rear-wheel drive. It gets to 60mph from 0 in just 5.7 seconds, which drops to 5.3 seconds if you go for the extended-range version with the larger battery.

The dual-motor car has 428hp and all-wheel-drive. This version will get to 60mph from 0 in just 3.4 seconds. This is the fastest-accelerating Volvo ever made.

The price of the Volvo EX30 starts from $36,145 or 29.83 lakhs INR. This EV is available to order now and the deliveries might start in early 2024.
