The central bank bought USD 9.169 billion and sold USD 8.378 billion in the spot market during the reporting month, according to the monthly RBI bulletin for November 2021, released on Monday.
RBI had a net purchase of USD 3.747 billion in August 2021. During the month, it bought USD 10.887 billion and sold USD 7.14 billion in the spot market.
The Reserve Bank of India reported net purchases of USD 8.172 billion in September 2020.
RBI net acquired USD 68.315 billion in the spot market during FY 2020-21. During fiscal 2020-21, it acquired USD 162.479 billion from the spot market and sold USD 94.164 billion, according to the statistics.
The outstanding net buys in the forward dollar market at the end of September 2021 was USD 49.606 billion, the same as the previous month, according to the statistics.
